In addition to the Bathroom and Kitchen, our 2018 project also included the client’s mud room. Originally this space was a very small laundry room and under-utilized detached dining space. We removed the wall between the two spaces in our goal to create a warm and inviting area for the family to enjoy daily. After removing the dividing wall, we brightened the room by adding a white slatwall panel across from the windows and around to the far side of the room to help refract the brilliant Central Texas sun throughout this space. We then added additional storage options and work surfaces at various heights to promote additional usage as a craft and play room. Striving to bring some of the outdoors in, we utilized varying textured jute baskets in place of closing the cabinets to add a touch of life and texture to the space, while creating countless storage options. Finally, we utilized poppy-red metal stools and custom milled swinging doors with a nautical flair to add a playfully colorful flair and welcoming character to this sunny new space.
